The leaves of the white Aak plant are as thick as the banyan leaves. The leaves turn yellow when ripe and ready to fall. Its flowers are small and appear in clusters. The flowers may have colored lines but are mainly white in colour. Its fruits are the size of mango fruit and are filled with white cotton-like structures.
Ganpati resides in this plant
Aak or Madar tree is very dear to Lord Shiva. Lord Ganesha’s wash is said in this plant. This plant is both black and white. Shyam and white madar are specially used in tantric form. It is believed that Shwetark Ganpati resides in its roots and if this plant is worshiped properly and kept in the house, it is especially beneficial. The scriptures tell that it is considered highly auspicious to plant a sacred Aak plant at or in front of your main door. It has white flowers, which are very dear to Lord Shiva. This plant always protects from negative energy and forces. The oxygen released from this plant purifies the environment.

- Aak plant can be planted in the middle of the fire angle of the house, south-east or in the north direction.
- White Aak plant should be planted near or in front of the main gate of the house or it can be kept outside the house near the gate.
- Plant the Aak plant in such a way that whenever you leave the house, this plant should be on your right hand side.
- Plant Aak plant on which auspicious day like Poornima, Ekadashi, Mangal or Monday.
