Her sister, Alia Fakhri, has recently been arrested by the police on charges of murder. Alia is accused of killing her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend out of jealousy by allegedly setting them on fire.

According to a report by ‘Daily News’, Alia set fire to a two-storey garage in Queens, New York, where Edward Jacobs and Anastasia ‘Star’ Etienne lived. Both victims reportedly died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. Following the incident, New York Police arrested Alia and presented her in Queens Criminal Court, where she was denied bail.

District Attorney’s Statement

District Attorney Melinda Katz stated, “Aaliyah accidentally killed two people by starting a fire that left a man and a woman trapped in the flames. Both died due to smoke inhalation and injuries.”

Nargis Fakhri’s Mother’s Response

Nargis Fakhri has not yet commented on the situation. However, her mother spoke to the media, denying the allegations against Alia. She said, “I don’t think she would kill anyone. She was a person who took care of everyone and tried to help.”

A witness reported, “We smelled something burning. When we ran outside, we saw the sofa on the stairs was on fire. To get them out, we had to jump over it. Starr jumped with me but went back to save Jacobs. Alia used to say she would burn his house and kill him, but we just laughed it off.”
