The government has taken this step at a time when the demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly in the country. Apart from this, due to rising petrol-diesel prices, people are now preferring to buy electric vehicles more.
Desk: Electric vehicles are being promoted by the government to reduce the increasing pollution. In this episode, the Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy has been approved. At the same time, an additional budget provision of Rs 40 crore has been approved for proposed one-time contribution and SGST recharge to encourage purchase of electric vehicles.

This will increase the demand for electric vehicles. In fact, during the budget of the year 2019-20, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had also planned to bring an electric vehicle policy. Under this, along with reimbursement of SGST to the purchasers of electric vehicles, Rs 5 to 10 thousand per vehicle for two wheelers and three wheelers depending on the battery capacity as a one-time grant to encourage the purchase of such vehicles. 10 to 20 thousand rupees will be given per vehicle.

This subsidy will be given by the government in the form of one-time subsidy on purchase of vehicle according to battery capacity, apart from refilling of SGST on purchase of EV under Electric Vehicle Policy. As subsidy, a subsidy of Rs 5-10 thousand will be given on electric bikes. At the same time, a subsidy of Rs 2 lakh will be given on three-wheeler vehicles and Rs. 50 thousand on four-wheelers and Rs. 2 lakh on purchase of buses.

According to the experts, on the purchase of electric vehicles under the Maharashtra EV policy, a basic incentive of Rs 5,000 is available per kWh of the vehicle’s battery capacity. Which is given a maximum of Rs 1.50 lakh. Apart from this, under the policy, EV buyers got the benefit of the Early Bird Benefit Scheme on the purchase of vehicle before December 31, 2021, which has now been extended till March 31, 2022. Buyers of qualifying variants of the Nexon EV get a discount of Rs 2 lakh (Rs 1.5 lakh as subsidy and Rs 1 lakh for early bird incentive). Due to which there was a huge drop in the price of the vehicle. Also, all variants of the Tigor EV are getting subsidized and are now being sold with additional early bird benefits.
