Airport News: The age of a passenger traveling from Jammu Airport to Delhi from IC-422 became a problem for several officials of Airlines. The situation deteriorated so much that all the files from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi started turning. During the reverse, a truth came out, which made the entire airlines proud.
According to sources, the traffic superintendent of Indian Airlines Surinder Dogra was accused in this case that he prepared a child’s ticket called Kalpanik while on duty at Jammu Airport. Later, by cheating, not only converted this ticket into adult tickets, but also changed the price and destination of the ticket. Subsequently, this ticket was sold to two bank officials named KK Gupta and RK Kohli.
CBI got important clues
The investigation of this case was first handed over to the Visalance Branch of the airlines and then to the CBI. During the investigation, the investigating agency had a coupon, which was released in the name of a passenger named Vikram. Vikram did air travel between Jammu to Delhi on this coupon. Investigation also revealed that this coupon, released in the name of Vikram, was actually released in the name of a child named Master Azim.
Permission to travel from Jammu
On this coupon, Master Azim had to travel from Jammu to Srinagar. However, Surinder Dogra manipulated the child’s coupon into an adult ticket. Apart from this, changing the sector, he replaced him from Jammu to Srinagar to Delhi. Subsequently, this coupon was released in the name of Vikram and sold for Rs 3105. On this coupon, Vikram was allowed to travel to Delhi through flight IC-422 from Jammu to Delhi.
Supreme Court approves punishment
Surinder Dogra was arrested by the CBI in this case on 19 November 1997, about 28 years ago. In this case, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court held Surinder Dogra guilty. Also, in his judgment on 12 April 2019, accused Surinder Dogra was imprisoned for 6 months and a fine of five thousand rupees. Surinder pleaded in the Supreme Court against this decision. In its order pronounced on 21 February 2025, the Supreme Court has upheld the High Court sentence, convicting Surinder Dogra.
