Last year, I reviewed the Insta360 Flow Pro, the first iPhone gimbal supporting Apple’s DockKit technology. Now, Insta360 introduces the Flow 2 Pro with several improvements, which I tested in advance.
Gimbals add stability for better photo and video quality. The Insta360 Flow 2 Pro features a refreshed, lighter, and more robust design. Controls have been updated with a larger thumbstick, and it can be used as a tripod. A small mirror on the back helps frame selfies or vlogs. The LED flash is brighter and easier to connect, and the MagSafe adapter doubles as a stand.
Supporting Apple’s DockKit API, the Flow 2 Pro seamlessly integrates with iPhone camera apps, enabling real-time tracking. Setup is easy with built-in NFC, and the Insta360 app offers manual camera controls and cinematic filters. The app’s Deep Track 4.0 allows object tracking, and Active Zoom Tracking centers subjects automatically.
The gimbal can act as a power bank via the USB-C connector, handy in emergencies. The new travel case is a welcome addition for carrying extra accessories.
Overall, the Flow 2 Pro offers more stability and smoother movements than its predecessor, making it ideal for professional iPhone videography. Available for $159.99, with a Creator Bundle for $189.99.
