The full moon date of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month is starting at 10.38 am on 11th August, which will remain till 07.05 am on 12th August. All the fasting festivals are celebrated on Udaya Tithi, so the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be on 11th August and the auspicious time of tying Rakhi will be from 09.28 am to 09.14 in the night. Ravi Yoga will start from 05:48 in the morning till 06:53 in the morning. Amrit Kaal will last from 06.55 pm to 08.20 pm.
Auspicious time to tie Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan

The festival of Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11. The auspicious time for tying Rakhi on this day will be from 09:28 in the morning to 09:14 in the night. But meanwhile there will be Bhadrakal from 05:17 pm to 08:00 pm. Do not tie Rakhi to your brother during this time.
Classical method of tying rakhi
- For tying rakhi, brother should always face east and sister should face west. By doing this, your Rakhi will also get the blessings of the gods.
- While tying Rakhi, brothers should have handkerchief or any clean cloth on their head.
- Tie a rakhi on the wrist of the right hand of sister brother and then apply tilak of sandalwood and roli.
- After applying tilak, apply Akshat and also sprinkle some Akshat on the brother as a blessing.
