The Challenges Faced by Babil Khan
Babil Khan, the son of the late iconic actor Irrfan Khan, frequently finds himself in the spotlight for various reasons. Often, he is compared to his legendary father, which has taken a toll on him. Recently, Babil’s mother and Irrfan’s wife, Sutapa Sikdar, opened up about this issue, revealing that such comparisons have led Babil into depression.
Pressure and Depression
In a candid interview with Hindustan Times, Sutapa expressed her concerns: “There is immense pressure on Babil, which I find concerning! Irrfan never faced such pressure, and without it, one’s true personality shines. For Babil, it’s not just about his career but also the profound loss of a father figure—this has almost driven him to depression.”
A Mother’s Plea for Compassion
Sutapa elaborated, “There’s constant tension and pressure on Babil. As a mother, I plead, please leave my child alone. He is fragile and not inclined to fight! While his father and I were strong, perhaps Babil inherited a different set of genes.”
Comparisons with Bollywood Legends
Discussing the parallels drawn between Babil and Irrfan Khan, Sutapa mentioned, “Just as Abhishek Bachchan, despite his stellar performance in ‘I Want to Talk,’ faces constant comparison with his father Amitabh Bachchan, Babil too is undergoing a similar struggle. I hope he overcomes this soon.”
Babil Khan’s Career Path
Babil Khan made his entry into Bollywood with the film Kaala. He has also featured in Friday Night and The Railway Man. Up next, Babil will be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s The Umesh Chronicles, with potential appearances by Amitabh Bachchan.
